KLASSENSPRACHEN & Ogg

KLASSENSPRACHEN is a contemporary art group founded in Berlin working as curators, educators and writers. They seek to “confront the notion of class languages in/of contemporary art and probe how they could be opened up towards a collective development of a practical knowledge, of forms of agency within and beyond art.” This mission is carried out in three formats: exhibitions, magazines, and de. For their debut exhibition and magazine in 2017, Zurich-based Offshore Studio designed the identity and magazine using Ogg Display.

The magazine brings together dozens of contributing essays and debates. Minimal in design and color, the magazine uses typography to drive forward the tone and content of the group’s critical questions. Ogg set in all-caps with extra-tight leading are a core part of the group’s tone, declaring sections and shaping quotes such as, “THE SIGN BECOMES THE ARENA OF THE CLASS STRUGGLE.”
